Celebrity hairstylist Charles Worthington has styled the tresses of bold names like Sharon Stone, Kim Cattrall, and Sarah Jessica Parker, but one of his most impressive designs is his cozy yet sprawling off-grid legacy ranch that has hit the market for $19.5 million.
“The Ranch” at 6855 Capitol Creek Road in Old Snowmass, CO, outside of Aspen, was built by multimillionaire businessman Gerhard Andlinger in 2002, but purchased in 2019 and then fully designed by the stylist and hair product mogul. Records show that it was sold for a mere $3.8 million then.
The ranch was first listed for $25 million in March 2025 and is back on the market with a discount.
A 3-mile private road leads to the compound that boasts a 6,917-square-foot main house with 6 bedrooms and 6.5-baths; a 5,200-square-foot barn with four horse stalls and a caretaker’s office; and a pond-side warming cabin. There’s even a luxe teepee with firepit.

All the furniture that was hand-selected by Worthington and his partner, Allan Peters, will be included in the sale. “I’ve designed the ranch to fit into the Colorado countryside,” he says.
The jet-setting pair also have homes on the Greek isle of Mykonos and in central London, as well as a historic country house in Kent, built in 1432. But Worthington was dreaming of snow. He’d been skiing in Aspen for over 25 years and wanted to own property in the area.
After four years of searching for the perfect pad, he saw the Capitol Creek Road compound and knew it was “the one.”
“It’s in the most sublime location,” he says. “There’s 360-degree, far-reaching views and not one property in sight. You feel like you’re living in your own world. It’s very magical.”

The property abuts Bureau of Land Management and National Forest land, meaning it will never be surrounded by development. It’s also completely off-grid, running on solar power with backup generators.
“I’ve got a gazillion lights on, you can have hot baths, the hot water never runs out,” Worthington says. “I’ve had 12 guests here running showers at the same time. You wouldn’t know you’re off-grid. But if there is a power outage in the city, we’re not affected by it.”
The 151 untouched acres comes with two ponds, perfect for swimming or skating beneath a starry, unblemished sky, two natural creeks, and senior water rights.
Located within White River National Forest, the property sits at the base of Mount Sopris, with white-capped mountain views all around. Wildlife includes deer, wild turkey, and bears. There’s no helipad but one can be built.

The Williams Lake trail, accessed from near the property, is where legendary singer John Denver purportedly wrote his famous song “Rocky Mountain High.”
Worthington stresses that while the property is “utterly private,” the bustle of busy towns like Aspen and Carbondale isn’t far away.
“We’re in the middle of true nature, yet 45 minutes to Snowmass and some of the best skiing in Colorado, and about 55 minutes into the center of Aspen with all the fun and entertainment,” he says.
Nearby is the 3,700-acre ranch that for decades was used as a monastery and was purchased in December by Palantir CEO Alex Karp for $120 million.

Inside the main house, built from logs flown in from Montana, is a great room dominated by a double-height boulder fireplace (one of six fireplaces), six en-suite bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a bar area, and a dedicated gym with windows overlooking mountain vistas.
“There’s a reformer in there for Pilates,” Worthington says. “And the gym has spectacular views on both sides. The uplifting view makes you work out harder. I’ll stay half an hour longer just looking at them.”
Worthington notes that the main house might be sprawling in square footage but still feels like a small, cozy cabin fit for two. However, if you want to entertain in grand style, it can easily fit over a hundred people. Worthington knows, as he and Peters enjoy throwing large social gatherings.
“It’s like a winter and summer playground,” he says of the ranch.
Worthington is offloading his playground so he can “find another project” in the same area.
“I love interior design and want to focus more on that now,” he says.
The listing is held by Jamay Shook and Michael Latousek of Douglas Elliman and Scott Bayens of Sotheby’s International Realty.
